Our Approach
Every Velarca concept begins with a simple question: what will future vessel owners, operators, and travellers require that today's vessels cannot fully provide?
Our development process is informed by evolving market demands, changing environmental regulations, emerging technologies, and shifts in how people wish to experience the sea.
By understanding these forces before the design process begins, we are able to define clear concept directions that guide every subsequent decision. Working alongside leading designers, engineers, and specialist partners, we develop vessel concepts that respond to the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of maritime travel.

Our Team
Sami LehtonenSami founded Velarca to explore new possibilities for ocean travel in an era of changing market expectations, environmental requirements, and technological advancement. Combining qualifications in naval architecture, yacht design, boatbuilding, and business management with practical experience in yacht construction and offshore sailing, he leads the company's strategic direction and concept development.
His multidisciplinary perspective forms the foundation of Velarca's approach: creating vessel concepts that balance innovation, operational practicality, and exceptional experiences at sea.
Chief Executive Officer
With a background spanning marketing, hospitality entrepreneurship, and brand development, Shalome contributes to Velarca's concept development through guest experience strategy and interior concept thinking. Her work focuses on translating emerging traveller expectations into compelling vessel concepts, while leading Velarca's global marketing, communications, and brand development activities.
